In Their Own Words
From the gentle guidance of Rythmia's staff to the deep bonds formed with fellow guests, hear how Jena healed her relationship with her body, opened her heart to connection, and found community after years of isolation.
My husband died in 2020 and I have been, you know, I needed a change in my life so badly that I was willing to just go for it. And I'm so glad I did. The staff here and they just helped me grow. You know, just let me grow on my own but with their gentle guidance. I just felt so safe and nurtured here and the self-talk has gotten more compassion toward my own self. Which is pretty a big deal for me. I definitely found a new relationship to my body because I've been a yoyo diader and I've gone up and down and waiting up and down and wait a stress eater. And the insights I got to that my own self told me why I did that kind of thing. Things came up around my childhood that I didn't expect but it freed me. I felt like what came up was a surprise but then everything made sense. I was also very standoffish around other people and had a heart. Feeling a hard time making connections with other people but the group that I had here, everybody was so loving and supporting me tell those that those insecurities have started to just fall away. I actually found a friend that only was there's a person here that's only two hours from my house. And we've made arrangements to have lunch together once in a while. You know, we're gonna stay in touch with me. You know, it's like, oh they like me. They like me, they like me, they really like me. And they're wonderful and I'm really looking forward to having new friends because I was pretty isolated before I came here. And like I said, I don't want to be isolated anymore. I want to be part of a community which is different. Very different. So I'm hopeful. I haven't been hopeful for my future in a long time and I actually feel hopeful.
